This exclusive collector tag is crafted from the fuselage of Westland Gazelle AH.1 ZA736, a highly recognisable light helicopter that served with the British Army Air Corps for several decades.
Built under licence by Westland Helicopters, the Gazelle AH.1 entered service in the 1970s as a fast and agile platform for reconnaissance, light utility, liaison, and training roles. ZA736 was one of the British-operated variants equipped for both military and support operations, and throughout its career it was often seen participating in joint exercises across the UK and Europe.
Known for its distinctive fenestron tail rotor and sleek silhouette, the Gazelle was prized for its responsiveness and reliability in both peacetime and operational deployments. Aircraft like ZA736 were often used for battlefield surveillance, casualty evacuation, and command support, and remained a familiar presence at British military bases until their gradual retirement in the 2010s.
Now decommissioned, ZA736 lives on through these collector tags, each one a genuine piece of its airframe, preserving the legacy of an aircraft that played a crucial role in the British Army’s aviation capabilities for over 40 years. A must have for military aviation enthusiasts and Cold War-era collectors alike.
